The Problem
SquidHaus started as a small operation working out of a garage, selling workout shorts to friends and family. As they grew, they leaned into digital ads on Google, Meta, and TikTok but hadn’t tapped into SEO at all. When they decided to revamp their website, they knew they needed a strong foundation to make sure their new site could scale with them.
Their biggest concern? Making sure their products were actually getting found in search. At the time, they were mainly selling men’s 4-inch inseam shorts, with a handful of tees and tanks. With plans to expand their product line, they wanted their site to be fully optimized from the start — no duplicate pages, no missing meta data, no wasted opportunities. That’s where we came in.

Our Strategy
First, we took a deep dive into their website to identify any technical roadblocks. We audited their XML sitemaps, robots.txt file, and canonical tags to ensure Google could crawl and index their most important pages.
Next, we tackled duplicate content and keyword cannibalization issues. Some pages were competing with each other instead of working together, so we restructured URLs and implemented 301 redirects to consolidate rankings.
From there, we optimized SEO titles, H1s, and meta descriptions across key product and collection pages, making sure every page had a clear focus and targeted the right keywords.
We also made sure product images were working in their favor by optimizing alt text for relevant search terms, helping them show up in Google Image results.
Throughout the process, we worked closely with their team — offering SEO guidance, answering questions, and even helping them rethink their site navigation for better usability and internal linking.

Proven Success
SquidHaus went from almost zero organic momentum to ranking on page one of Google for high-intent keywords like “mens mesh shorts” and “4 inch inseam shorts.” With a focused SEO strategy, their site gained visibility, and became a serious revenue driver, driving high intent traffic from keywords.
By optimizing key pages and eliminating duplicate content issues, we helped increase organic revenue by 1,200%, YoY, over a 9 month period. Their site is now pulling in more organic traffic than ever, and the impact is only growing.
After they started performing for variations of “men’s mesh shorts” and “4 inch inseam shorts” they sold out and had to completely restock. The increases in organic revenue brought on by their newfound organic visibility helped them to expand their fledgling product line (e.g. the Essentials Collection, the Performance Collection, and Camo Sweat Set).
The best part? They’re proof that you don’t need to be a massive brand to win with SEO. Smart technical fixes and strategic optimization can drive huge results, even for a newer brand looking to scale.
